Help we wished we had, offered to the next person
Pumping Along started with a simple belief: getting onto insulin pump therapy should not feel like a fight. Everyone living with diabetes deserves clear information and a steady hand through the parts that are confusing.
Why Pumping Along exists
This work is close to my heart. My eldest son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was six. He is twenty-four now. Like so many people living with diabetes, he began with daily injections, several times a day, every day, as part of managing it.
After about a year to eighteen months, he was able to move to insulin pump therapy. We were fortunate to have good private health insurance at the time, and the change made a real difference to his daily life. A pump can free a person from those constant injections. It is genuinely liberating, and even more so now that tubeless models are available.
I started Pumping Along so that more people can understand that option and feel supported in reaching it, whatever their situation.
Our founder, Pumping Along
Who we are here for
Anyone living with diabetes who is curious about insulin pump therapy, and the people who care for them. Whether you are exploring the idea for yourself or supporting a family member, you are welcome here, wherever you are on the journey.
How we help, and where your care team leads
Pumping Along provides education and support. We explain how things work, help you prepare, and make the path easier to follow. Your doctor, endocrinologist, and diabetes care team make the medical decisions and provide clinical training. We are here to complement them, never to stand in for them.
A note on what this is
Everything we share is general education and support. It is not medical advice, and it does not replace guidance from your own healthcare providers. Always make medical decisions with your care team.
Let us help you find your footing
Wherever you are in the process, there is a sensible next step. We will help you find it.
